Heather Beaty is a multi-faceted performing arts professional who lives and works in Vancouver, BC. She began flute lessons at the age of five following the Suzuki Flute Method, and proceeded to further her music education with Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of British Columbia as well as an honours Advanced Certificate in Arts and Entertainment Management from Capilano University. Heather’s freelance orchestral work includes performances with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, Prince George Symphony Orchestra, Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Plastic Acid Orchestra, Vancouver Opera Orchestra and Aventa Ensemble. Heather is also a baroque flute specialist and has performed with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Victoria Baroque and Early Music Vancouver. Career highlights include winning the position of Principal Flute with the Kamloops Symphony in 2014 as well being awarded tenure with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra in 2025.
