Jonathan Der, violinist, conductor, chamber musician and church organist, enjoys sharing music with the Lower Mainland communities. Jonathan grew up from Toronto, obtained his bachelor’s degree from McGill University and a master’s degree in Violin Performance and minor in conducting from Indiana University, Bloomington. Jonathan has been an active adjudicator for music festivals such as the Richmond Music Festival, North Shore Music Academy Festival, Elite International Music Festival, Pacific International Youth Music Festival and Pacific Northwest Music Festival to name a few. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Conductor and Chamber Music Director of the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra and the Music Director/Organist at St. Anne’s Steveston Anglican Church. He also teaches violin in his home studio and perform frequently as a freelance violinist.
