Meet the Artists of the Schubertiade Salon Series

At its core, a classical salon is about more than just sitting quietly in a concert hall—it is about community, conversation, and connection. On Friday, October 30, the Schubertiade Salon Series returns to Vancouver’s historic Christ Church Cathedral (690 Burrard St).

To celebrate the intimate, interactive spirit of this performance, we are opening the doors early at 7:00 PM for an informal Meet & Greet. This is a rare opportunity to chat with the performers casually before they take the stage at 7:30 PM.

Ahead of the evening, get to know the four exceptional local talents who will be sharing their music and poetry:

🎵 Heather Beaty – Flute

A multi-faceted performing arts professional based right here in Vancouver, Heather is a highly regarded baroque flute specialist. An alumnus of the University of British Columbia, her orchestral work spans major Canadian ensembles and early music groups.

🎤 Richard Williams – Baritone

Following an extended hiatus from the music stage, Richard is enjoying a renewed performing career in recitals and oratorios. This season, he brings his powerful, expressive vocal range to a rich selection of choral and solo classical repertoire.

🎹 Ronald Sat – Piano

Praised by The Washington Post, Ronald is an accomplished Steinway Artist who has performed at world-renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He is also a dedicated educator and the founder of the Pacific Chamber Music Academy.

📜 Lynda Clarke – Poetry Reading

A Vancouver-based performer and mezzo-soprano, Lynda brings a unique interdisciplinary layer to the salon series. She has a deep-seated passion for German Lieder, using her spoken-word readings to beautifully thread together the musical themes of the evening.
